Farewell Abby!

My most favorite Scottish friend in the whole world was here visiting this past week. I've written a post about her before. We were the best of friends in high school. She came to "the States" as a foreign exchange student. I haven't seen her in 8 years! It was so much fun being able to catch up on everything, she is such an amazing person. I wish I could do half the traveling that she has. She's been to Australia, New Zealand, different states, Canada, and all over Europe of course (since she DOES live in Scotland). And I can't say enough about her brilliant accent! I just love it. She keeps me laughing all the time. I can't wait to see her again. She promised it wouldn't be another 8 years. She is actually thinking of doing every other Christmas here! That would be amazing!

#4!!

As I stated before, I like to have a picture with my stories but blogger won't upload the image I scanned into my computer. I figure you all know what an ultrasound picture looks like anyway, right? So I guess I'm officially telling everyone about the baby growing inside of me. I usually don't tell anyone till I'm at least 12 weeks but I guess I do feel pretty safe now. I'm on my meds. I have lost a few babies after spreading the word to everyone that I was pregnant and had people asking me about my pregnancy 3 months after losing it!
The last 3 weeks have been horrible! I am nauseous all day long and worst of all, my body isn't tolerating sugar! It gives me the worst stomach ache! I hope that goes away after the 1st trimester cause I don't think I could handle waiting 7 more months! Although it would be really good for me....
So yes, I have 7 months left. I am due Jan. 7th officially but I will do anything I can to have it on an even day :) The 8th would be nice
Also, I am not going to find out the gender of my baby. That is if I can do it....I have never even had the desire to wait to see what I was having, in fact, I thought people were completely insane to do such a thing. But my sister Stephanie is also pregnant, due 2 months before me, and she isn't finding out. So far she's been strong. We'll see if she holds out.
More updates to come, although the journey of a pregnancy doesn't appeal to everyone. But that's pretty much how I see life right now, "I'm pregnant".

Strep?

2AM Thursday morning I wake up and I can barely breathe, my tonsils and lymph nodes are so swollen! Then I tried to swallow. OUCH! It took me at least 30 minutes to fall back asleep. Then Brigham wakes up crying around 4AM so I attempt to get out of bed and about fall to the ground in pain! My head hurt so bad! My body was all achy too. So for the rest of the night, I keep waking up every hour or so cause I'm too hot or too cold (fevering), and then it would take me forever to fall back asleep cause I couldn't swallow without tearing up.
Brandon hasn't been getting many hours at work and lucky for me, (blessings in disguise) he didn't have any work the next morning so he sat around with me waiting for his boss to call him and send him on a job. It has been so long since I have been sick like this. I even think it's worse than being pregnant. Although I can say that only because I'm not right now :). I know, I do forget.
By Friday nothing had changed but Brandon did have to go into work around 9 so I was pretty stressed about having to entertaining the kids all day feeling this horrible. So I googled strep throat and looked at the signs and I had every single one of them. But then the website informed me that it would go away in 3 to 7 days even if I didn't get medication for it. Bummer! So immediately I knew that meant I couldn't justify spending the $20 to go see the doctor and then the $10 for the prescription so I would just have to wait this thing out and I was really not looking foreword to that! Well my friend Amber came to the rescue! She is dating a doctor and she happens to get strep a lot so he just calls in prescriptions for her when she needs them. Last time he happened to prescribe twice the amount of medicine that she normally takes so she had just enough left over to treat me! I was so ecstatic! I wouldn't have to suffer much longer! So I started it yesterday afternoon and now I feel 100% better! My throat still hurts when I swallow but the pain is much more manageable now. Thank you Amber! Ugh, I HATE strep throat!

I know it's been awhile....

So it's been almost a month. Now I'm going to use the excuse again that I don't have any pictures. This past month has been pretty crazy so I really did want to show it all off but I probably won't get around to taking the pictures or uploading them cause I just get too overwhelmed. I know, not a big deal for most people but it is for me.
Easter was great, the Easter Bunny set out every one's empty Easter baskets by their door. Then he hid tons of eggs all over the basement. Now my oldest, Jordan, has her room downstairs but we were banking on Brigham waking up first and his room is right across the hall from us and we always hear him wake up. We also figured that if Jordan did happen to wake up first, she would immediately come upstairs and tell us the Easter bunny came so we could see as well. So 6:45AM rolls around and Jordan comes running into our room. Brandon and I sleepily sit up in bed to share in her excitement and to our surprise, she is holding her Easter basket which is CHUCK FULL of Easter eggs! She had woken up and found all the eggs before coming upstairs! Now what? I look at her all disappointed and tell her how sad it made me that I didn't get to see her find them all and Brandon says "maybe Mommy can go hide them all again". Well, I went downstairs to assess the damage and found that there were still plenty of eggs still hidden. (She must have stopped when her basket couldn't hold anymore!) I said, "well, if Daddy wants to hide them that's fine but Mommy doesn't want to." And Brandon says, "no, I think Mommy should just go hide them." "no, Daddy should." I reply. Then Jordan says, "alright, stop fighting. I will go hide them!" Haha! Little stinker! So I went back down to hide them all again and we woke Brigham and Tegan up to have them all find them together. It was so much fun! I wish I would have taken pictures.
After church, we had Brandon's parents and his brother, Jason's family over for Easter dinner and to celebrate his Mom's birthday. Afterwards we played our new favorite game, Rage, and had banana splits! Great fun! More to come. I really do have to take a picture for my next story....

We won!

So I just got done playing my region basketball game. We played the Polynesian ward who is notorious for being really rough and not so nice. Last year they totally beat us up. And they always bring the WHOLE family with them to cheer them on. So this year, as we walk in the gym and see who we were playing, we were a little on edge. We totally wanted it though and our little team pulled through! We were so excited! We not only won, we stomped on them! And they had plenty of chances to come back. We were fouling them like crazy cause we weren't going to let them walk all over us again but they weren't hitting any of their free throws. So anyway, it was the best game I've played in a long time. Needless to say, I haven't been to the gym all week long cause I've been so extremely busy (which is a whole other post). I wasn't winded at all. I could have gone all night long! Well, I am excited to go tomorrow though. I need that rush of endorphins again!

The new me!

So I finally got the ok from Brandon to chop the hair again! I absolutely love my short hair! It is so much easier to do in the morning and it looks a lot better than the same old ponytail everyday. I first got my hair cut a little above my chin and it was cute and all but not as extreme as I really wanted so I put it on my facebook and asked everyone what they thought. Most people said to leave it and definitely not to go shorter but I finally decided that if I love it, then I'm going to have more confidence and love myself more. So anyway, I DO feel more outgoing and sure of myself and I actually spend a little more time on myself. So here's the new me!

Memories

Well I was just reading my cousin's blog and she was writing about a time when  she was a kid. Her cousin cut off the fingers of her barbie. It just totally reminded me of a childhood memory I have about a time when I was destructive. Since this hardly happened when I was a kid, I thought I would share........
I was probably around 4 or 5 cause I did it when my sister was in school. It was right after Christmas....
My 2 older sisters and I got the same things for Christmas a lot. Probably to avoid fighting over each other's presents. Well this particular year, we all got one of those talking Teddy Ruksbeens. (Really don't know how to spell that.) Mine happened to be broken. You can imagine the devastation when I had to watch my sisters playing happily with theirs and I couldn't. My parents promised me they would take it back to Santa's workshop to exchange it for one that worked. But it just so happened that Santa gave away all the Teddy Ruksbeens and there wasn't one to replace it so they came home with a talking Big Bird. Well of course that wasn't good enough. I decided that if I couldn't have one, then Stephanie shouldn't get to play with one either. The next time she was at school, I took action. My little brother, Spencer, and I snuck into her bedroom and there it was.... sitting on her bed. See Spencer and I had this thing where we would dare each other to do things. You know, the double doggy dares? Well, Spencer never disappointed! I dared him to grab the bear by the legs and bash his little head on the floor till he couldn't talk anymore. (I might have gotten a few whacks in myself). Then we placed it neatly back on the bed. (Under the covers of course.)
Boy I'll tell ya, was Stephanie ever surprised when she got home! Poor girl! Oh the things you do when your a kid :)
